The Atonement
"The apostles taught that death had been cancelled, and immortality, that is, deathlessness, or life and incorruptibility, brought to light by Jesus Christ in the Gospel of the Kingdom,--that the writing of death against the saints had been crossed, or blotted, out; and incorruptibility of body and life for them procured by his resurrection as the earnest of theirs--2 Tim. 1:10" Bro. Thomas, Eureka, Vol. 1, Pg. 303:The Balaamites; Logos Ed.
"While a believer is out of Christ, he is in his sins, and while he is in his sins he is under the sentence of death; for 'the wages of sin is death.' As soon, however, as his sins are forgiven through Christ's name, in the act of forgiveness he passes from under the sentence of death; and as there is no middle, or neutral, position, he comes under the sentence of life, and rejoices in hope of the kingdom of God. Thus Jesus hath abolished death, and brought life and incorruptibility to light in the gospel of the kingdom (2 Tim. 1:10)" Bro. Thomas, Elpis Israel Pg. 327; Logos Ed.
"In the present interregnum, believers of the Gospel of the Kingdom when justified in the Lord, and so made holy, and saved from their past sins, are still required to offer sacrifice, or to do service to their Father who is in heaven. The doing of service is indespensible so long as human nature is 'sinful flesh.' If when believers are justified and sanctified morally and constitutionally, they were also physically cleansed, or purified from that evil principle which brings them into death and corruption, religious service would be unnecessary." Bro. Thomas, Herald of the Kingdom Vol. 1 Pg. 203, "A synopsis of the Kingdom"
"It appears to me, from the testimony already in the hands of the reader, the King of the Jews will first manifest his presence, not to the world at large; which will not know of his being there, or, if told the fact, would not believe it; but to those, whom 'the blood of the covenant' brings before his tribunal." Bro. Thomas, Eureka Vol. 5, Pg. 234, Logos Ed.
"1.-THE LAW OF LIFE is set forth in the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ. It is a development of the PROMISE made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and announces, both to Jew and gentile, a CONSTITUTION and a KINGDOM, the subjects of which do obtain a RELEASE from the 'law of sin and death,' and a RIGHT and TITLE to 'glory, honour, IMMORTALITY, and ETERNAL LIFE.'
3.-This NEW INSTITUTION is a CONSTITUTION of RIGHTEOUSNESS AND LIFE in contradistinction to the CONSTITUTION OF SIN AND DEATH. By the latter, the SENTENCES OF CONDEMNATION passed upon all men; by the former, a respite, reprieve, or suspension of the capital sentence is provided for 'all the families of the earth.'" Bro. Thomas, "The World in relation to the Law of Jesus", The Christadelphian, Vol. 9, 1872, Pg. 294, "Scraps from Dr. Thomas's Papers"(Capitals his, bold mine)
"When Paul says 'the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death' he is not describing a future, but a past, event."..."These are present truths which can only be discerned by the spiritual mind. True, they have a prospective bearing; for if those who have been made free 'from the law of sin and death' should become 'prisoners' in 'the pit wherein is no water,' they are certain to be brought out 'by the blood of Christ's covenant' (Zech. ix. 11), and if they have continued faithful until that time they will be 'clothed with their house from heaven,' and thereby be empowered to sing, 'O Death, where is thy sting? O Grave, where is thy victory?' This is the physical aspect of freedom from 'the law of sin and death'; but if they had never been 'made' or constituted free in a legal sense they would have no chance of attaining to the future physical freedom." Bro. J.J. Andrew, The Sanctuary-Keeper, Vol. 8, 1902, Pgs. 61-62 NOTE: The ellipsis above omits extensive ennumeration of events synchronous with the removal of Adamic Condemnation. The omission does not affect the substance above. I can provide the missing words upon request.
"The Angel in Sardis was 'twice dead,' and since 'plucked up by the roots;' but moderns, never having had spiritual existence in God, will be less sorely dealt with; yet will they not rise to life, the primary sentence upon our race binding them hard and fast with chains of darkness in the dust---Gen. 3:19; Isa. 26:14; 38:18, 19" Bro. Thomas, Eureka Vol. 1 Pg. 355 Logos Ed.
"The separation between God and Man began with the transgression of the first Adam; it continues till the end of the 7000 years, when sin and death are utterly eradicated, and harmony again established in this orb of His glorious universe. Earth will have been delivered from moral and physical evil by His power administered and displayed through the Lord Jesus Christ," Bro. Thomas, Elpis Israel Pg. 470 Logos Ed. My bold
